Thronar

The past
In 2003 a Dutch band known under name of Cerberus changed their name to Thronar. Under the old name Cerberus, the band had released already a couple of demos which had made them a well known band in the Netherlands and abroad. The reason behind the changed band name was a new musical direction. The melodic Black Metal of the band had evolved to a more bombastic form of Viking Metal. Because most of the songs tell stories of grand battles and medieval warfare the band decided to name their music Battle Metal which was at that time an unknown label for that kind of music.

Promo 2003

In the 2003 Thronar recorded a promo which led to the deal with Seven Kingdoms.

For Death And Glory
In 2005, the first full length of Thronar was released by Seven Kingdoms. The album contains nine unique songs of Battle Metal. The album received very positive reviews and had to be repressed several times.
In the years after the release, Thronar performed with bands like Eluveitie, Moonsorrow, Ensiferum, Arch Enemy, Korplikaani and In Extremo. Thronar has a growing international audience and played in different countries like Belgium, Swiss and Germany.
